The Taj Mahal for which it was built was in fact not the wife of Shah Jahan, but the wife of one of his wazirs, which later Shah Jahan married and loved Mumtaz dearly.

The Taj Mahal was originally scheduled to be built in Burhanpur, about 900 km from Agra, but was built in Agra when Shah Jahan's arrival in Agra after Dusman's army invaded Agra.
